"16th NATO Days" held in Baku

Within the framework of the "16th NATO Days", a delegation led by Rear Admiral Yusuf Karagülle, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Partnerships Directorate at NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), paid a visit to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense told APA about this.

The purpose of the visit was to develop the existing cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO, implement commitments under partnership programs and strengthen mutual exchange of experience.

Within the framework of the visit, meetings were held with the delegation at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, as well as at military units within the Land Forces and the Navy that have units declared under the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC).

It was noted at the events that within the framework of Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation, Azerbaijan has actively participated in ensuring international security. The activities of the personnel of the Azerbaijani Army in peacekeeping missions were assessed as a valuable contribution to global security. Azerbaijan's active participation in NATO's "Partnership for Peace" program, as well as its achievements within the framework of the OCC program, were also highlighted.

The meetings emphasized the importance of cooperation in the field of military education and training. It was noted that the participation of Azerbaijani officers in NATO exercises and headquarters is useful in enriching their operational, management and military scientific knowledge. Various briefings and round table discussions were organized for the delegation.

At the end of the meetings held within the framework of the "16th NATO Days", gift exchanges were held and commemorative photos were taken.
