A strong frosty anticyclone has affected almost all of Russia, bringing unusually cold temperatures to -50°C in Siberia and the Ural Mountains.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center.
According to him, the impact of the anticyclone is felt from the western borders of the country to the Pacific coast.
The most significant deviations from the norm - up to 15-20°C - are expected in Siberia. Exceptionally cold weather is expected in the Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, and Irkutsk regions, the Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories, as well as in Tuva, Khakassia, Buryatia, and Transbaikalia.
