Iranian authorities have reported new attacks targeting both the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and a chemical facility in the country’s southwest, resulting in the death of a guard and damage to infrastructure amid an ongoing escalation.
Axar.az informs, citing Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI), that a projectile struck near the perimeter fence of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant earlier in the day.
The impact caused a blast wave that damaged one of the station’s auxiliary buildings and killed a member of the facility’s physical protection service. Officials emphasised that the plant’s main operational units were not affected.
Authorities said that, according to the latest available information, five people were injured in the attack targeting the special economic zone of the chemical complex in Mahshahr and the port of Imam Khomeini.
