Explosions were heard on May 8 in the Sirik area of Iran’s southern Hormozgan province, near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian state-linked media outlets.
Residents in the Sirik district heard multiple explosions.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, and Iranian authorities have not issued a formal statement on the incident.
