Axar.az informs, citing АPA, the president made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku.
“Today, fully understanding the importance of urban development, especially the development of capital cities, we must be both courageous and cautious. I sometimes compare this to the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix held in Baku. By the way, this is one of the few Formula 1 races held on a street circuit. The cars reach speeds of over 300 kilometers per hour, and then the drivers brake and enter a narrow street just seven meters wide, located only one meter from an ancient city wall. That is why drivers must be both brave and careful. As leaders, decision-makers, and those who set the development agenda, we must also be courageous in development and in creating better living conditions,” the head of state said.
