Security chief: Belarus reports frequent Ukrainian UAV crossings

State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich has claimed that Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles are regularly crossing into Belarusian territory, with some incidents allegedly targeting border infrastructure.

According to the Belarusian state news agency BelTA, Volfovich said that Belarus’s air defence systems detect such crossings on a daily basis. He emphasised that while some cases may appear accidental, others are viewed by Minsk as deliberate attempts to strike facilities along the border.

“Every day, our air defence systems record regular crossings of the Belarus–Ukraine border by combat UAVs and their fall on our territory. In some cases, these are not accidental incidents, but attempts to strike elements of border infrastructure, disguised as so-called accidental incursions. Over the past week alone, there were 116 such cases. Duty forces were deployed against them 59 times,” he said.
