Russia–China trade volume rises by nearly 20%

Trade turnover between Russia and China increased by 19.7% from January to April 2026 compared to the same period last year, Zhang Hanhui, Chinese ambassador to Russia, has stated.

Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), he said the comprehensive partnership between the two countries continues to develop steadily, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

According to him, trade volume reached $85.2 billion in the first four months of this year.

In 2026, Russia and China are marking the 30th anniversary of their strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.

Over the years, the two countries have accumulated significant practical experience and achievements: China is Russia’s largest trading partner, while Russia remains a key supplier of energy resources and raw materials to China.

Bilateral trade has exceeded $200 billion for three consecutive years.
