A small fire broke out on platforms used for a Fourth of July fireworks display near New York City's Brooklyn Bridge.
Axar.az reports, citing the New York Post, that video from the scene showed flames and smoke rising as fireworks were launched during the Macy’s Independence Day celebration over the East River.
According to a source familiar with the response, the blazes occurred on platforms installed to launch the fireworks, not on the bridge itself. The source said the 143-year-old bridge remains “safe and structurally sound.”
The New York Fire Department said the fire was extinguished using two fire engines.
