Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has appointed Hossein Taeb as head of the Basij Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Axar.az reports, citing Iran’s IRNA news agency, that Khamenei issued a decree appointing Taeb to the position following the death of Brig. Gen. Gholamreza Soleimani.
The Basij is a paramilitary volunteer militia organization operating under the IRGC.
