Chinese President Xi Jinping said China and the United States have a responsibility to ensure artificial intelligence is developed for the benefit of humanity.
Axar.az reports, citing CNN, that Xi made the remarks alongside US President Donald Trump at the White House.
“Both China and the United States are leading nations in artificial intelligence,” Xi said.
“We have both the capability and responsibility to develop and manage AI for good, and ensure that the development of AI is always under human control and serves the well-being of the people.”
Xi also said China and the US share a “historic responsibility” to advance human development and progress.
Trump and Xi are expected to discuss artificial intelligence during their talks. Trump said earlier that AI “will be a big topic of discussion, but I want to leave it exactly where it is.”
