Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaskelevicius has met with Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration.
Axar.az reports, citing the Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan, that the sides discussed regional security, prospects for strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan, and closer EU-Azerbaijan relations during Lithuania’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“Amid the changing geopolitical and security environment, it is important for countries that know the price of freedom to share their views more actively, understand and support each other,” the Lithuanian ambassador said after the meeting.
