Uzbekistan's Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov visited the Republican Velodrome.
Zaur Akhundov, President of the Azerbaijan Cycling Federation, and Sahib Alakbarov, the Federation’s First Vice-President, briefed the guests on the ongoing efforts to develop cycling in the country, as well as the modern facilities set up at the velodrome for athlete training.
The ministers familiarized themselves with the training ground, the Cycling Museum, and the on-site mini-hotel designed to accommodate coaches and athletes.
While observing the ongoing training sessions of young cyclists, the ministers familiarized themselves with the initiatives aimed at drawing the younger generation into the sport, developing their athletic skills, and ensuring their future growth into professional athletes.
Highly appreciating the facilities and sports infrastructure at the Republican Velodrome, Adham Ikramov particularly underscored the importance of further expanding sports ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
