First-time participation: Azerbaijani FM joins Central Asian diplomatic talks

On November 15, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated for the first time in a meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries, marking a significant step in Azerbaijan’s engagement with the region, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry adviser and press secretary, Akhror Burkhanov, announced through his social media account.

Burkhanov highlighted the evolving regional cooperation, noting: “Today, Central Asia is characterised by a completely new spirit — one of close friendship, good-neighbourliness, and joint development. This spirit underpins all our initiatives and decisions. As regional solidarity strengthens, new opportunities for shared development are also expanding. Another important aspect of this meeting in Tashkent is the participation for the first time, in this format, of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.”

He emphasised that Bayramov’s presence at the meeting reflects the deepening of bilateral relations, stating that it demonstrates “the further expansion of our multifaceted relations with our close friend and partner state.”

Burkhanov also noted that the meeting was held in a highly productive, open, and trusting atmosphere. “The heads of foreign ministries thoroughly discussed the most pressing issues of sustainable development, security, and prosperity in our region,” he said.

Looking ahead, Burkhanov added that the participating countries plan to continue the consistent implementation of measures “for open dialogue, practical cooperation, and shared development,” further strengthening regional collaboration and mutual understanding.
