NYSE owner ICE to acquire MarketAxess for $5.7 billion

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, has agreed to acquire electronic bond trading platform operator MarketAxess Holdings in a $5.7 billion deal.

The company's press release said that under the terms of the deal, ICE will pay $167 per MarketAxess share, representing a 33% premium to the company's closing share price on July 29, Caliber.Az reports, citing Bloomberg.

Founded in 2000, MarketAxess operates one of the world's leading electronic trading platforms for fixed-income securities.
