Azerbaijan allocates over $600 million for reconstruction of liberated lands

Azerbaijan allocated 1.0641 billion manats ($627.8 million) for reconstruction projects in its liberated territories during the first half of 2026, the Ministry of Finance said.

A total of 340 projects were implemented in Karabakh and East Zangazur during the six-month period, with spending accounting for 30.4% of the allocated funds, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The projects included 76 in transport, 36 in water management and land reclamation, 11 in energy and industry, 19 in defence and law enforcement, 182 in the social sector, and 16 in other areas.

The largest share of funding went to transport projects, which received 505.2 million manats ($298.1 million), or 49% of the planned amount. Social projects received 400.5 million manats ($236.3 million), accounting for 23% of allocated funds.

Other allocations included 7.6 million manats ($4.5 million) for water management and land reclamation, 15.4 million manats ($9.1 million) for energy and industry, 60.3 million manats ($35.6 million) for defence and law enforcement, and 75.2 million manats ($44.4 million) for other areas.
