Dramatic footage shows a collision between a cargo ship and a Chinese fishing vessel near Singapore, with the impact nearly sinking the fishing vessel.
In the Singapore Strait, the 229-metre bulk carrier First Margaux was overtaking the 43-metre Chinese fishing vessel Lu Qing Yuan Yu in a shared traffic lane when its bow struck the fishing vessel’s starboard stern, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The impact sent the Chinese vessel veering sideways and caused it to list sharply, with water pouring over the side.
The crew scrambled for safety, climbing onto the vessel’s capsizing hull.
No information on fatalities or injuries has been reported so far.
