Highly influential, world's largest multi-religious organization “Religions for Peace” has elected Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board (CMB), as the organization's co-chair and member of the World Council.
The appointment of Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade to the position of co-chair of “Religions for Peace”, following his election to the Board of Directors of the KAICIID Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue and the Muslim Council of Elders, serves as undoubtedly another clear example of Azerbaijan's worldwide acceptance as a hub for civilizations and interreligious dialogue.
“Religions for Peace” is the world’s largest and most representative multi-religious organization. It includes about 100 national Interreligious Councils, or “IRCs,” in 6 regions, bringing together the most influential religious leaders representing various countries and faiths. Each of them has the status of co-chair.
A. Pashazade was elected to the position of co-chair at the regular conference of the organization's World Council, held in Istanbul on July 29, 2025.
Since its inception, “Religions for Peace” has consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), UNESCO, UNICEF, and closely cooperates with the UN Alliance of Civilizations, KAICIID, and other international organizations.
