Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, Commander of the Iranian Navy, stated that the eastern Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, key access points to the Strait and the Persian Gulf, are under full Iranian control.
Axar.az reports, citing IRNA, he stated that Iranian forces are prepared to take action against any potential threats.
Irani warned the USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group will be closely monitored, including its positions, movements, and interactions with regional states. He warned that all coastal missile systems are ready to respond, stating: “If the carrier strike group enters the range of our missiles, we will retaliate along the Makran coast with shore-to-sea missile launches.”
The Admiral also claimed that previous Iranian naval operations had forced the carrier group to move hundreds of miles away from Iranian territorial waters, demonstrating Tehran’s ability to track and respond to U.S. naval activity in the region.
