Turkiye is moving toward becoming one of the key poles of a new international order amid profound changes in the global security paradigm.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks while addressing young officers at Turkiye's National Defense University.
According to Erdogan, modern wars are fought not only on the battlefield but also through cyberattacks and disinformation campaigns.
"We are facing new realities in which unmanned aerial vehicles directly influence the outcome of military operations. In an environment where intelligence gathering significantly enhances the capabilities of the parties, command skills and effective leadership are of particular importance," he said.
Erdogan added that humanity is living in an era where "fundamental transformations have become the norm."
"Artificial intelligence is having a profound impact on every aspect of life. We clearly observe this transformation in the fields of defense and security as well. While the number of troops and weapons was once the decisive factor in conventional warfare, today we also emphasize the role of rapid decision-making and support mechanisms," he said.
