Chinese and Belarusian airborne troops launched the “Swift Eagle 2026” joint military drills in central China’s Hubei Province on Wednesday.
Axar.az reports, citing Chinese media, that the fourth edition of the exercises focuses on surveillance and counter-surveillance, seizure and control, and defense operations, with an emphasis on urban counter-terrorism.
The drills aim to strengthen the participating forces’ joint operational capabilities and deepen military cooperation between China and Belarus.
“This joint training exercise is an important opportunity for in-depth military interaction and cultural exchange,” said Cheng Qiang, a member of the Chinese contingent. He added that the troops would exchange training experience and improve their joint counter-terrorism capabilities.
