Belarus, North Korea to sign visa-free travel deal soon

Belarus and North Korea will soon sign an agreement on visa-free travel.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov announced this.

“The agreement is ready, with only several technical aspects remaining. We will sign it in the near future,” Ryzhenkov told Belarus-1 television.

He said he had discussed the agreement with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui during his recent vacation in North Korea.

“We discussed with her the entire range of bilateral relations and agreed on further contacts between the foreign ministries and on the signing of a number of agreements, including this important agreement on visa-free travel,” Ryzhenkov said.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko instructed officials in March to open the country’s embassy in North Korea and accelerate work on a visa-free travel agreement.
