The price of Super E10 petrol in Germany has reached a record high amid the renewed Iran war.
Axar.az reports that, according to the German Automobile Club (ADAC), the nationwide average price for a liter of Super E10 rose to €2.215 on Wednesday, September 2, surpassing the previous nominal record of €2.203 set in March 2022.
The ADAC said the current price level remains excessively high.
Compared with the previous week, Super E10 rose by 2.8 cents to an average of €2.183 per liter, while diesel fell by 1.6 cents to €2.232.
The ADAC attributed part of the increase to rising oil prices following renewed military strikes between the US and Iran. Brent crude was trading at around $95 per barrel, about 8% higher than a week earlier. However, the organization said oil prices alone could not explain the current level of fuel costs.
The ADAC also said motorists can save money by comparing prices and refueling shortly before noon, when prices are currently at their lowest.
