Elon Musk has declared the creation of a new political party called “America,” following the results of a poll held on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
“By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,” Caliber.Az quotes Musk as saying in a post on X.
More than 1.2 million users participated in the poll, with 65.4% supporting the establishment of a new political force.
Recall that on July 4, Musk posted a poll on X asking, "Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?" The poll garnered over 1.2 million responses, with 65.4% of participants voting in favor of forming the new party, while 34.6% opposed it.
