Turkiye’s Adana Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism Branch has launched an operation against the Furkan Foundation.
Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that according to the Turkish Interior Minister Akin Gurlek, numerous people, including the foundation’s chairman Alparslan Kuytul and his wife, Semra Kuytul, were detained during the operation.
“The operation, jointly conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Adana Provincial Police Department, investigated the criminal activities of the organization publicly known as the ‘Kuytul group’ and the proceeds obtained from these activities.
Based on statements from complainants and witnesses, financial analyses, bank transactions, digital materials and other evidence, legal proceedings have been initiated against 32 suspects on charges of establishing and managing a criminal organization, membership in a criminal organization, laundering assets obtained through crime, fraud, forgery of official documents, and violations of the Tax Procedure Law,” the minister said.
