A Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Lisbon made an unscheduled landing in Lyon after a passenger’s power bank caught fire on board.
Axar.az reports, citing Bild, that flight LH1170, operated by an Airbus A321, was diverted to Lyon on Saturday evening after the power bank caught fire near a passenger seat.
The cabin crew immediately secured the device in a special lithium-safe bag. The pilots declared an emergency and decided to land in Lyon as a precaution.
There were 198 passengers and six crew members on board. After landing, passengers were accommodated in hotels and were expected to continue their journey to Lisbon on other flights on Sunday.
