Hamas is ready to hand over its weapons to a future state that will govern Gaza, but only on one condition: the Israeli occupation must end.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya in Gaza.
It was noted that by “state,” the Hamas leader meant a future sovereign Palestine.
Khalil al-Hayya added that the issue of handing over weapons is a matter for discussion among Palestinian groups and mediators. The agreement is still in the early stages:
“We accept UN forces as those who will monitor the borders and the ceasefire in Gaza,” he said.
