The Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan, Elchin Amirbekov, met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska, who is visiting Baku.
Axar.az reports that the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to NATO shared this information on its X account.
During the meeting, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia was discussed.
The parties also noted that the first visit of the North Atlantic Council ambassadors to Azerbaijan in 2025 and their meeting with President Ilham Aliyev were significant events in the history of the partnership with NATO.
"A detailed discussion was held on the current state and prospects of the mutually beneficial partnership between NATO and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's contribution to peacekeeping operations under the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance and to Europe's energy security as an active and reliable partner, cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining, as well as regional security and other issues," the statement emphasized.
