Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have agreed on new steps to strengthen security cooperation during their meeting in Istanbul.
Axar.az reports, citing Ukrinform, that "We discussed bilateral relations between our countries, as well as the situation in Europe and the Middle East. It is important that joint and coordinated actions strengthen the protection of life and help deliver greater security to people in every part of the world," Zelensky said.
The two sides agreed on areas where Ukraine can support Turkiye, including expertise, technology, and experience.
"There is firm political readiness to work together, and our teams will finalize the details in the coming days," Zelensky added.
He also noted that the meeting included discussions on practical steps for joint projects in gas infrastructure and opportunities for the joint development of gas fields.
Zelensky thanked Erdogan and the people of Turkiye for their consistent support of Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.
It should be noted that Erdogan and Zelensky met in Istanbul.
