South Korea will send a special envoy to Iran to discuss the situation in the Middle East and bilateral issues between Korea and Iran.
Axar.az informs, citing Yonhap, during a phone callwith Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, which created an opportunity to resume navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
He also emphasized the need to ensure the swift and safe resumption of free navigation for all vessels, including South Korean ships, through the Strait of Hormuz, and asked Iran to continue to pay attention to the safety of Korean nationals in the country.
Araghchi also welcomed Cho’s decision to send a special envoy and agreed to continue communication on related matters, according to the South Korean ministry.
