Armenia does not intend to blackmail the European Union (EU) with demands for rapid membership, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the 8th bilateral meeting of the Armenia–EU Civil Society Platform, Armenian media reports.
“We have adopted a law to begin the process of EU membership, but our strategy is that we will not use blackmail tools — that is, we will not take the approach of ‘we adopted the law, therefore you must admit us to the EU within a month,’” he noted.
Pashinyan added that there should be “zero tension” in the integration process.
