The Akhalkalaki–Kars railway is open for exports and imports to Armenia.
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“I am pleased to announce that the Akhalkalaki–Kars railway, as well as the Azerbaijani railway, is now open for exports and imports to Armenia. This is a major event in our country’s economic life. I thank our partners in Turkiye and Georgia,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, Armenia currently has railway connections with Russia via Georgia and Azerbaijan, and also with China via Russia and Kazakhstan. He added that a new route connecting Europe through Georgia and Turkiye has now been added.
The Prime Minister also noted that direct railway links between Armenia and Turkiye, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and later Armenia and Iran via Nakhchivan are expected to be launched soon.
