President Aliyev hails friendship, trust in Azerbaijan-UK relations

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has praised the strong ties between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, describing bilateral relations as being built on friendship, mutual respect and trust in a congratulatory message to British King Charles III on the occasion of the monarch’s official birthday.

In his letter, President Aliyev said relations between the two countries continue to develop steadily across a range of sectors, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

“I am pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, to you and, through you, to your entire people on the occasion of the national holiday of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland – Your Birthday. Our interstate relations built on friendship, mutual respect and trust, our fruitful cooperation across political, economic, trade, investment, energy, including renewable energy, and other spheres are currently developing dynamically and steadily. By leveraging the significant potential of our mutual interaction, we can further enrich the Azerbaijan-UK bilateral agenda,” he wrote.

The Azerbaijani leader emphasised the potential for further expanding cooperation between Baku and London, noting that both countries could strengthen their partnership by making full use of existing opportunities.

“I am confident that we will successfully continue our joint efforts to further enhance the traditional friendly ties and mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries for the prosperity of our peoples,” he wrote.

The Azerbaijani leader extended his congratulations to King Charles III and wished him “robust health, a long life, happiness, success” in his duties, while also expressing hopes for the continued prosperity and well-being of the British people.
