Azerbaijani, Slovak ministries of internal affairs ink MoU on cooperation

Baku, July 14, AZERTAC

On July 14, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov met with a delegation led by Minister of Interior of the Slovak Republic Matúš Šutaj Eštok in the city of Shusha.

The sides explored the current state and development prospects of cooperation between the two countries’ ministries of internal affairs.

Vilayat Eyvazov briefed the Slovak delegation on the activity of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the crime situation in the country and the ongoing efforts to ensure citizen satisfaction.

The sides emphasized the importance of joint efforts in combating transnational organized crime, illicit trafficking of drugs and weapons, human trafficking, illegal migration and cybercrime, the use of modern technologies and the exchange of operational information.

Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok expressed his country’s interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of internal affairs.

Also in attendance were the ambassadors of both countries.
