Two foreign nationals were killed and seven others injured on July 25, 2026, following a severe collision between a passenger car and a minibus in the coastal city of Batumi, located in Georgia's Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.
The fatal crash occurred on Gorgiladze Street in central Batumi. Emergency services dispatched to the scene rendered immediate assistance and transported the seven injured individuals to several local hospitals across the city for medical treatment.
According to preliminary reports from Georgian media outlets, the passengers travelling aboard the minibus were Belarusian citizens.
Georgian law enforcement authorities have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. The case has been opened under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which addresses violations of traffic safety or vehicle operation rules.
