Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have filed new charges against former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna, according to RBC-Ukraine, which cited informed sources.
The High Anti-Corruption Court is considering a request to determine Stefanishyna's pretrial detention status. Her defence team has asked the court to hold the hearing behind closed doors.
Stefanishyna was dismissed from her post as Ukraine's ambassador to the United States by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on August 3.
At the time of her dismissal, Ukrainian media reported that the decision could be linked to ongoing criminal proceedings involving the former ambassador. Ukrainian authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the dismissal was connected to the investigation.
