North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, warned Wednesday that Japan could face a “devastating strike” if it takes what Pyongyang considers the wrong course on military expansion.
Axar.az reports that Kim Yo Jong said in a statement published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
“Our military leadership has already begun to consider deterring and suppressing the threat from Japan, which is turning into a serious security challenge, or taking even tougher measures as part of its military strategy."
She said Pyongyang was closely monitoring Japan’s efforts to strengthen its military capabilities, viewing them as a potential threat and a factor that could disrupt the balance of power in the Asia-Pacific region.
“If Japan attempts to make a wrong choice, it will face an immediate, devastating strike,” Kim Yo Jong said.
She also described Japan’s military buildup as a “suicidal act” and “adding fuel to the fire.”
