Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York said that Iran’s delegation left New York on Monday evening in accordance with a previously scheduled itinerary that had been communicated to the U.S. Department of State in advance.
Axar.az reports that the mission made the statement on X in response to a report published by Axios.
“The Iranian delegation left New York on Monday evening, in accordance with the schedule that had also been communicated to the U.S. Department of State in advance on September 17. Having achieved nothing, the State Department has resorted to propagating baseless and worthless news,” the mission said.
It should be noted that Axios reported that U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had demanded that the Iranian delegation to the UN General Assembly leave the country immediately after negotiations stalled.
