Trump shares vision for Canada’s future after joining US

US President Donald Trump has addressed the people of Canada, discussing the future they could expect once the country becomes part of the US.

“Good luck to the Great people of Canada. Elect the man who has the strength and wisdom to cut your taxes in half, increase your military power, for free, to the highest level in the World, have your Car, Steel, Aluminum, Lumber, Energy, and all other businesses, QUADRUPLE in size, WITH ZERO TARIFFS OR TAXES, if Canada becomes the cherished 51st. State of the United States of America. No more artificially drawn line from many years ago. Look how beautiful this land mass would be. Free access with NO BORDER. ALL POSITIVES WITH NO NEGATIVES. IT WAS MEANT TO BE! America can no longer subsidize Canada with the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars a year that we have been spending in the past. It makes no sense unless Canada is a State!” Caliber.Az reports, citing President Trump's message on Truth Social.

The snap parliamentary elections will begin in Canada on April 28. Sixteen political parties will participate in the vote, and the leader of the winning party will become the country’s new prime minister.

On April 15, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasised that Trump remains firmly in support of integrating Canada into the US. Trump has repeatedly stated that Canada should become the 51st state of the US. He has argued that Canada would be "much better off" as part of the US, adding that the US loses $200 billion annually due to its relationship with Canada, and he would not allow this to continue. Furthermore, Trump has suggested that joining the US could offer Canadians significant savings on taxes and defence.
