The official visit of a delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently underway, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan told AZERTAC.
During the visit, Colonel General Valiyev held a meeting with Chief of General Staff of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili.
Prior to the meeting, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Kingdom's General Staff. The Chiefs of Staff of both countries passed along the guard of honor, the national anthems of the countries were played, and the Book of Honor was signed pursuant to the protocol.
Subsequently, an expanded meeting took place with the participation of both delegations, and the prospects for the development of ties between the armies of the two countries were discussed.
The sides engaged in an in-depth exchange of views on cooperation across military, military-technical and military education fields and other areas of common interest.
