A statement by Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi suggesting that a potential Chinese attack on Taiwan could create grounds for Japan’s military intervention has sparked a strong reaction in Beijing.
Axar.az reports that “Haber Global” released information on the matter.
According to the report, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Takaichi’s remarks provocative:
“Recently, Japanese leaders have openly made provocative statements regarding the Taiwan issue, seriously damaging relations between the peoples of China and Japan and creating significant risks to the personal safety of Chinese citizens in Japan.”
It was also noted that in its statement, China’s Foreign Ministry urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to Japan in the near future.
