Kylian Mbappe has set a new record for the most goals scored by a French player in a single season for club and country, according to Tribuna.
His penalty against Paraguay in the World Cup last 16 took his tally to 55 goals in the 2025-26 campaign, surpassing his previous personal best of 54 set in 2022-23.
The France captain now occupies three of the top five spots on the all-time French single-season scoring list.
Only Just Fontaine's legendary 53-goal campaign in 1957-58 and Philippe Gondet's 51 goals in 1965-66 separate Mbappe's record-breaking seasons.
