The U-20 World Wrestling Championship in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is nearing its end.
Axar.az reports that on the seventh day of competition, freestyle wrestlers competing in the 70, 74, 97, and 125 kg categories took to the mat.
Haji Karimov (70 kg) defeated India's Sumit Baraskar 5:1 in his debut, then beat North Macedonia's Muhamed Veseli 11:2. In the quarterfinals, Karimov dominated Armenia's Davit Davtyan with a shutout (12:0), and in the semifinals he overcame Egypt's Mohamed Ahmed 9:2. Haji will face Iran's Sina Mehdi Khalili in the final.
Ismayil Rahimli (74 kg) lost to Uzbekistan's Farrukhbek Jumanazarov 2:4 in the qualification round. Farhad Suleymanli (97 kg) eliminated Hungary's Robert Erdelyi early (11:0), but lost to Belarus' Azamat Tsarikayev 8:19 in the quarterfinals.
Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) defeated Japan's Hosei Fujita with a dominant 11:1 and India's Ronak Ronak 3:2 to reach the semifinals. One step from the final, Yusif lost to American Dreshaun Ross 1:4 and will wrestle for the bronze medal tomorrow.
