A "Mi-8" helicopter has disappeared in Russia's Kamchatka region, APA reports citing interfax.ru.
The "Vityaz Aero" helicopter, heading towards the village of Nikolayevka in the Yelizovsky district, vanished from radar just a few minutes later.
According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsiya, the helicopter that disappeared from radar in Kamchatka had 22 people on board.
It has been stated that among the 22 people were three crew members and 19 passengers. The "112" Telegram channel has mentioned that there may have been tourists on the Mi-8.
The Russian Investigative Committee has announced that the Mi-8 helicopter disappeared near the Vachkajets volcano in Kamchatka, and an investigation is being conducted into violations of safety and operational regulations in aviation.
