The new UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, described learning the Azerbaijani language as one of the best decisions in his career.
Axar.az reports that the statement was made by newly appointed British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman at a press conference.
"I studied the Azerbaijani language for a little over a year before coming here, and then lived with a family in Ganja for some time. I am still continuing my studies because I do not think my Azerbaijani is good enough yet," he said.
According to the ambassador, learning Azerbaijani is not easy for an English speaker. However, he described the process as a valuable and rewarding experience, noting that he continues his studies with pleasure.
"I really enjoy continuing to learn your language. Azerbaijani is very rich, and I really like its structure. Learning the Azerbaijani language was one of the best decisions I have made in my career," Norman emphasized.
The diplomat expressed hope that he will be able to improve his speaking skills and use the Azerbaijani language more frequently in his work.
