The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) is seeking to bring Cristiano Ronaldo and head coach Jorge Jesus together in an effort to resolve their dispute.
Axar.az reports, citing A Bola, that the federation wants to prevent Ronaldo’s international career from ending abruptly following the tensions that emerged during Portugal’s training camp in Copenhagen.
According to the report, FPF president Pedro Proenca and other federation officials are working to bring the two sides closer and reopen dialogue.
The federation has not confirmed whether an emergency meeting between Ronaldo and Jesus is planned. However, A Bola reports that resolving the dispute and finding common ground are among the FPF’s priorities.
The disagreement intensified after Ronaldo was left on the bench during Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Norway, despite warming up during the second half. Ronaldo subsequently left the national team training camp.
