Novak: Domestic fuel market fully supplied despite shortages

Russia's domestic market is fully supplied with gasoline and diesel fuel, despite maintenance work at several refineries.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak made the remarks while speaking at the Financial Congress.

He acknowledged that temporary fuel shortages have occurred at some filling stations due to logistical disruptions in deliveries but said such issues are resolved quickly and monitored on a daily basis.

Novak also said Russia's vertically integrated oil companies are keeping fuel prices at filling stations within the inflation range.

"There is currently a certain gap in fuel prices at filling stations operated by independent companies. This is a normal market situation that should level out as the market is replenished and the overall situation becomes fully balanced," he said.

His comments came after reports earlier on Wednesday that Russia had begun importing gasoline from India to help address fuel shortages.
