Ukraine and Germany have agreed on a new support package worth more than €1.3 billion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said following a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
Axar.az reports that Zelensky stated on his X account that the package includes weapons for Ukraine and support for the country’s energy sector ahead of winter. The two leaders also discussed the urgent need for air defense.
“There is a new support package for Ukraine – a comprehensive package worth more than €1.3 billion. It includes weapons that will help us now, as well as support for our energy sector ahead of winter – an important energy package. Of course, we discussed the need for air defense, which is critical at this time,” Zelensky said.
He added that Ukraine and Germany had signed 15 agreements and documents covering security cooperation, weapons production, procurement, orders for German industry and joint projects in Ukraine.
“As of today, we have 15 agreements and documents, and most of them concern security cooperation, production, relevant procurement, our orders for German industry, and joint projects in Ukraine. The total value of our agreements today is more than €8.5 billion," he added.
