Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov has met with Lord Anas Sarwar, UK Minister of State for Trade at the Department for Business, Innovation and Science and Trade, and a member of the House of Lords.
Axar.az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry, that the meeting focused on the current state and prospects for developing bilateral economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom. The sides exchanged views on expanding trade and investment ties, strengthening partnerships between business communities and exploring new economic opportunities.
The sides also discussed opportunities to develop cooperation in the digital economy and innovation. They further addressed the development of economic and trade ties within the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom.
The sides emphasized the importance of making effective use of existing potential to diversify mutual economic ties, expand direct cooperation between businesses, and implement new joint initiatives.
