Security in this strategic waterway (Strait of Hormuz) is provided solely according to the definitions of the Islamic Republic of Iran and enforced by the country’s armed forces.
Axar.az reports, citing Fars News, Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said that "the era of intervention by overseas powers has ended."
"The notion of “ensuring security in the Persian Gulf” existed before you (the United States), in the minds of your predecessors as well, but today their naval forces are thousands of kilometers away from the region," he added.
"Any attempt to destabilize Iran would threaten security in the strait. This is the Persian Gulf; security is defined by us, not by you," Azizi continued.
