Azerbaijan, US review implementation of TRIPP project

On June 13, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Ben Black.

Axar.az reports that during the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for the development of multifaceted Azerbaijan-U.S. cooperation, as well as opportunities in energy, transport-transit, high technologies, and investment.

They also exchanged views on Azerbaijan’s significant role in strategic connectivity between Europe and Central Asia, port and logistics infrastructure, energy security issues, and regional transport projects.

The parties emphasized the special importance of the historic Washington summit held in 2025 in advancing relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, noting that the meeting created an important basis for expanding bilateral cooperation in new areas. In this context, they welcomed the signing of the Strategic Partnership Charter aimed at deepening cooperation in such fields as the economy, energy, transport connectivity, high technologies, and security. The work carried out within this framework was discussed.

The sides reviewed issues related to the implementation of the TRIPP project, which will ensure unimpeded connectivity between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic as part of regional transport projects.

They also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
